Bill Carlson is Vice President, Business Development of Wheelabrator Technologies. Formerly he was Vice President of Wheelabrator Environmental Systems, Inc. and General Manager of the Alternate Energy Group, where he oversaw plants burning wood waste, natural gas, tires, coal waste, and trash in California, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington. Bill has 30 years of experience in the electric utility and forest products industries, including time spent in utilities, rural electric cooperatives and independent power producers. He serves on the Boards of the Electric Power Supply Association and the California Biomass Energy Alliance, is Chairman of the USA Biomass Power Producers Alliance and is a member of the joint USDA/DOE Biomass Research and Development Technical Advisory Committee. He is a mechanical engineering graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, has done graduate work in both mechanical engineering and business administration, and resides in Redding, California.
