Rob Davis, President of Pellet Fuels Institute, has manufactured densified wood pellets in Show Low, Arizona for the past 13 years. This includes the production of 30,000 tons of fuel annually, utilizing wood manufacturers' by-products, and eight to 12 semi-loads of chips daily from forest thinning projects.
Pellet Fuels Institute represents over 60 pellet producers in North America. These producers provide heat to over 500,000 homes in North America and export over 250,000 tons annually to Europe for co-firing with or totally replacing coal fuels in district heating systems.
Prior to entering the pellet business, Davis was a mechanical engineer with experience managing industrial construction projects and companies for 15 years.
Davis' memberships include: Four Corners Sustainable Forest Partnership, Steering Committee; AZ Sustainable Industries, Steering Committee; AZ Sustainable Forest Partnership; NM Biomass Working Group; AZ Industries of the Future, Forestry Section, Steering Committee; and NM Industries of the Future, Forestry Section, Steering Committee.
