Alaska - Stewardship Contracting Projects

Forest Service

  • Kosciusko Stewardship Project, Tongass National Forest
The goals of the Kosciusko Stewardship Project are to improve forest health and wildlife habitat, re-establish safe access for recreation and subsistence activities, and improve watershed and fish passage conditions. The project will treat approximately 38 acres.

Bureau of Land Management

  • Campbell Aspen Regeneration Project, Anchorage Field Office
The Campbell Aspen Regeneration Project is designed to improve forest health and mitigate excess fire fuels on 50 acres, while improving public safety on a popular urban recreation area. This will be achieved through the restoration of the existing, dying & senescent aspen stands. This project compliments the 2003 defensible space project at the same site. Wildlife habitat and urban recreation at this site will also be enhanced.
