Minnesota - Stewardship Contracting Projects

Forest Service

  • Dunka Stewardship, Superior National Forest
    The Dunka Stewardship project will restore landscape ecosystems by decommissioning roads and reducing hazardous fuels in the wildland urban interface. This project will treat approximately 1,400 acres.
  • Upper Caribou Trail, Superior National Forest
    The Upper Caribou Trail project will remove dead and dying under-story trees to reduce fuels in the wildland urban interface. This project will treat approximately 1,400 acres.
  • Round Island Permanent Opening Restoration, Chippewa National Forest
    This project will restore permanent openings that are no longer needed and reduce fuel accumulation near the town of Squaw Lake. This project will treat approximately 72 acres.
  • Horse Logging and Diversity Planting, Chippewa National Forest
    This project will plant pine in an aspen stand to increase forest diversity. This project will treat approximately 23 acres.
  • South Leech Lake Roads Decommission, Chippewa National Forest
    This project consists of removing a resort and road decommissioning in order to facilitate rehabilitation of a riparian management area.
