Virginia - Stewardship Contracting Projects

  • Burns Creek Contract Logging, George Washington/Jefferson National Forests
    The Burns Creek project aimed to accomplish multiple land stewardship goals within an integrated contract. By combining contract logging, road construction, and fisheries habitat improvement into one contract vehicle, the project was expected to reduce operating costs and provide for timely implementation of land management decisions. Five contracts were awarded in FY 2002 and project is completed.
