West Virginia - Stewardship Contracting Projects

Forest Service

  • Middle Mountain Wildlife Stewardship, Monongahela National Forest
    The Middle Mountain project is designed to create multiple wildlife savannahs to provide remote, early successional habitat. This project will treat approximately 80 acres.
  • Fernow Experimental Forest Stewardship Project, Monongahela National Forest
    The Fernow Project seeks to improve conditions on the forest, particularly those that are related to watershed restoration, improved soil productivity, and historical/social resources. Two contracts were awarded in FY 2003 and FY 2005.
