- High RH but very dry fuels
- Homes to the west and north
- Stopped at 35 acres
- Pre-established fuel break saved at least 2 homes
- 8 other fires have been stopped on fuel breaks
Kabash Fire
- March 01, 2006
- Winds - 10 - 12 mph
- Homes to the west and north
- Stopped at 82 acres
- Pre-established fuel break saved at least 2 homes
- Very heavy fuels on the ground after Katrina. State units had given up on stopping the fire (unaware of the WUI lines in place.
- One outbuilding destroyed, one home damaged.
- 8 other fires have been stopped on fuel breaks
Rosalee Fire
- March 18, 2006
- Winds: Erratic 6 - 10 mph
- RH in high 20’s
- Very dry fuels
- Stopped fire at 115 acres
- Previous prescribed burn, in January, was used to anchor East flank.
